The SAFIR Newsletter is an effort to reach out to the regulators as well as those regulated in the area. It is a potent vehicle of information- and experience-sharing for all those who are in any way connected with regulation of infrastructure services, namely governments, the regulators, the service providers, and the consumers in the South Asian region. From time to time, this newsletter carries articles and write-ups on topical issues, where necessary, with regional overtones to help keep the readers abreast of development in the area of infrastructure regulation. It also carries case studies of situations, successful as well as not so successful, which give the readers an idea of what is doable in their own current context and what is not.
